Who we are?
Kenya Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (KAMFT) is an
association for registering, training and licensing, mentoring, regulating, and
advancing research in Marriage and Family Therapy in Kenya. Marriage and Family Therapists are mental health professionals trained in psychotherapy and family dynamics to assess mental and emotional issues within the context of the Family systems by offering necessary interventions.

Membership Categories
Student Members
One who is pursuing a graduate level program with the intention of becoming a Marriage and Family Therapist.
Affiliate Members:
Individuals and or institutions that are interested in partnering with KAMFT.
Associate Member
People who have graduated with a Master degree or equivalent and are practicing as a Marriage and Family Therapist.
LMFT Supervisor
A person who meets all the KAMFT-LMFT academic and practice
requirements.
Marriage and Family Therapist
A person who has completed all academic and practice requirements (MAMFT/PhD in MFT) and qualified to apply for a licence in Marriage and Family Therapy.
LMFT Supervisor (Qualifying)
A person who has been practicing as an LMFT for at least two years and
completed a minimum of 300 hours of direct client contact from the time
he/she qualified for that designation
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
A person who has completed all academic and practice requirements to qualify as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and has applied and his/her application has been approved; is free to use the designation LMFT
Supervisor Mentors
One who has practiced as an LMFT Supervisor for at least two years and
has provided a minimum of 75 hours of supervision to a minimum of 5
supervisees since becoming an LMFT Supervisor.
